How to Make Your Own Milk, Mess-Free and Easy!


Making your own non-dairy milk doesn't have to include the soaking and straining necessary for most nut milks. This recipe is great for beginners just wanting to get their feet wet into the DIY world of milk, or if you're just hella busy and the idea of making a mess just to clean it right back up makes you almost want to cry. That's where I'm at right now, #momlife. Anyway, moving right along.

Hemp milk is the easiest milk to make. It's also mild in taste and extremely versatile, adding in some dates for sweetness and vanilla and spices to taste (totally optional) can really turn it up a notch. Hemp milk is also super freaking nutritious because you are consuming all of the seed rather than just a portion of the nut or seed in strained or juiced varieties of milk (not to say those aren't nutritionally beneficial as well!). Hemp is high in so many nutrients. You've got omega-3 and 6 fatty acids, digestible protein, amino acids, vitamins A, B12, E, D, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, zinc and so much more.
